- Shadow and assist health professionals at mobile clinics in local villages
- Observe how public health services are provided in Bali’s communities
- Visit a natural birth clinic focused on reducing maternal and child mortality
- Create and present health education workshops for local schools
- Learn to surf on some of Bali’s most famous waves
Discover a new perspective on public health in this unique program nominated by Go Abroad as a 2018 Finalist for most Innovative New Program. You’ll study approaches to health care through two different lenses: Western convention and the indigenous wisdom of Bali. You’ll significantly deepen your understanding of the many pieces that make up the global health puzzle, especially in the developing world, where cultural competence is just as important for achieving wellness as medical ability and technology. Outside of your community service project you’ll enjoy Bali’s uplifting culture through live music and dance performances, memorable meals, and snorkeling and relaxing by the beach.
