Program Overview

Kick off the program by exploring the traditional Balinese way of life near Ubud, the island’s unofficial capital of arts and culture.  Spend your first week at a stunning Balinese-owned hotel with full amenities and easy access to Ubud village. You’ll head out on a downhill bicycle tour and a white water rafting experience, both of which will take you out into the gorgeous Balinese countryside where you can see stunning landscapes and traditional daily activities. In between these excursions you’ll round out your cultural experiences with a visit to a purification temple, a cooking class, a batik fabric design workshop, and a private meeting with one of the Royal Family princes at his palace.

Your journey continues to the northeast fishing village of Amed where you will spend 2 nights staying right on the beach in a beautiful hotel that is walkable to nearby restaurants and shops. On the way to Amed you’ll stop for a trek through a stunning area of east Bali with amazing views of Mount Agung. The trek will end in Tengenan, the village that is home to the indigenous Bali Aga people. In Amed you will have the opportunity to snorkel or SCUBA dive in the crystal clear waters to check out the flourishing coral reefs that are teeming with colorful tropical fish.

A final night of adventure brings you to Sanur, a seaside town in southeast Bali made up a long stretch of gorgeous beach with calm, shallow waters.  Colorful jukung fishing boats rest on the sand and a paved path snakes along the beach for several kilometers.  Sanur is home to great restaurants, a wide variety of shops and a relaxed atmosphere.  Your final day will be spent preparing for your journey home, enjoying delicious meals and shopping for souvenirs as you reflect on the memories you have created!
